GREEN

TEAM:

GREEN TEAM VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

GREEN STAGING STATION: These volunteers will manage the green collection tent (GREEN STATION) where collection volunteers will bring festival waste for staging before it is sorted and taken to the respective disposal bins. 

GREEN GRASS COLLECTION TEAM: These volunteers will be stationed throughout the festival and will be responsible for collecting waste on the grass and on the tables. The Collection team will be divided into 3 teams: Recycle, Compost, and Landfill.

GREEN COLLECTION TEAM: These volunteers will be tasked with emptying collection receptacles and taking bagged waste to the the GREEN STATION for staging. 

GREEN OWL TEAM: These volunteers will work outside of festival hours (before and after) sweeping the event for loose waste and ensuring all receptacles are empty. On Sunday, this team will also ensure that the GREEN STATION is empty and all waste is taken to the disposal bins. 

 This team is typically the most free roaming and self-managing of all volunteer positions.  

It is our goal to divert at least 75% of waste to recycling and composting.

BUILDERS VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

FESTIVAL BUILDERS: We need helpers setting up the festival starting on May 2, 2018. These volunteers will be separated into teams and will work with a team leader to build particular portions of the festival. 

Areas the builders will help set up: Main Gates / Backstage Areas / Green Stations / Internal Fencing / Tables / Hop Town / Drink Booths / Trading Post Merch Station

TEAR DOWN VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

FESTIVAL TEAR DOWN: We need helpers tearing down the festival. These positions are OVERNIGHT. We begin tear down after the festival finishes. Tear down typically starts discreetly at 9pm and may last as long as 6am the next day. Not all volunteers will be required to stay until the next morning. 

Areas the builders will help tear down: Main Gates / Backstage Areas / Green Stations / Internal Fencing / Tables / Hop Town / Drink Booths / Trading Post Merch Station

COFFEE CORNER VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

FRONT LINES: These volunteers will accept orders directly from the festival guests. They will be responsible for taking in payments (cash only), making change, and ensuring the accuracy of transactions. These volunteers will pour coffee from the coffee canteens and serve them directly to the customer as the coffee is ordered.

COFFEE MAKERS: These volunteers will brew the coffee as needed. They will also ensure that the milk and sugar bar is stocked and clean. 

 

WRISTBANDING STATION VOLUNTEERS:

WRISTBANDERS: These volunteers will check ID's and affix 21+ / Age Verified Wristbands onto guests. 

All wristbands must be applied to the RIGHT hand. 

 

FRONT GATES:

WRISTBAND  CHECK: These volunteers will verify that guests are wearing the correct day wristband and that it is fully in-tact and un-tampered with.

These volunteers will also mark the wristband with a special pen upon entry. 

THERE ARE NO INS & OUTS, so guests will only be allowed entry if their wristband is un-marked and they have not been inside the festival that day. 

WILL-CALL: These volunteers will match guest ID information with a pre-printed list to issue numbered wristbands for those who purchased their wristband after the mail-cut off time. Some of these volunteers will also aid in replacing damaged wristbands and help solve wristband problems.

TRADING POST:

CASHIER: These volunteers will be cashiers at the trading post-- the First Fest merchandise store. They will be responsible for taking in payments (cash only), making change, and ensuring the accuracy of the transactions. 

 

THE CIRCUS:

USHERS: These volunteers will assist people in lining up for the next performance. They will help to guide the line into the tent at the start of the shows according to the Comedy Circus schedule. 

CIRCUS MONITORS: These volunteers will sweep the circus after each show to make sure that the space is clean and clear for the next show to start.
